A London resident named Jennifer Rutter lives near the woods and sometimes sees wild inhabitants near her home. Back in February, a curious fox started running into her house, and now the redhead comes every day.

“I see that fox nearly every day, and she’s a favorite on our street,” Rutter told The Dodo. “The kids watch out for her from their bedroom windows.She seems really polite and gentle,” Rutter said. “She steps off the pavement to let people pass, and, apart from the debris she leaves in my garden, she’s very welcome!”

Recently Jennifer’s pet kitten Dodo became friends with the fox. He was sitting in his room when suddenly he saw a fox near the window. The two met and approached each other through the glass.

“Dodo was on my knee, and I pointed the fox out to her,” Rutter said. “She jumped up to the window and caught the fox’s attention, and then I started to film. I’ve never seen them interact before, and it was so moving to see them mirroring each other.”

It was obvious that the kitten was extremely interested in his new friend, and the fox was also looking at the baby with curiosity. Then she went about her foxy business, and Dodo waited for a new meeting with her friend.

“I thought the fox seemed curious and playful — not a threat,” Rutter said. “It was like Dodo had interrupted her, and she was graciously giving the baby cat some attention.”
