Mama panda helps her cub get adjusted to his new world.
The Big Panda is the true national symbol of China. These animals are highly valued and protected here. A remarkable event took place in the Chimlong Safari Park (Guangzhou) – the panda had a baby. The baby Long-Zai appeared in public for the first time – accompanied, of course, by his mother, who keeps her eyes on him. They look so touching together!
The Mama Panda is helping the cub to settle into his new world. She looks after him, and moves him gently from place to place by the neck.
Look how cute and stuffed he is!
The great panda (or bamboo bear) lives in central China. It is a vulnerable species – there are no more than 2,000 big pandas left in the wild. But thanks to the efforts of environmentalists, the great panda population has increased by 17% in the last decade.
