The homeless cat looked through the woman’s window with hungry, begging eyes – the poor thing was begging for food and affection. When the woman gave him food, he began to come every day.
Milena, a resident of Montreal, Canada, saw this cat outside her home. The homeless black and white cat was seeking food, and with hungry, begging eyes looked right through her window. The woman took the cat in and gave him food and water, and then the cat came running back to her house every day. In time they became friends.
One day the cat started scratching at the door, and Milena decided to let a guest into the house. He immediately settled in as if he had always lived here – and snuggled up on the mat in the bathroom, where he later fell asleep sweetly. Milena couldn’t keep the cat, so the next day she took him to the vet clinic to see if he had a microchip.
The doctors found the cat with a microchip, but it was not registered at all. It turned out that the cat had been to the shelter before, but after that, the other owners apparently rejected it and put it out on the street. The woman then contacted the local shelter, Chatons Orphelins, where the cat was gladly accepted. He was found to have several ailments and was immediately sent to a holding facility.
The cat was named Mathéo and was sent to a household that was already caring for several cats. Mathéo quickly got used to the new environment and befriended the other cats. He turned out to be very affectionate and kind – and followed his caretakers everywhere.
A little later, when they started looking for owners for Mateo, a family took a fancy to him. They took him in and now the kitty is happy with loving people.
