Kerry McKinnon’s Australian dog recently did an insanely touching and kind thing. A golden retriever named Asha brought a baby koala into the house. Kerry’s husband discovered it when he went out on the veranda in the morning and saw the tiny koala cuddling fearfully with Asha.

The dog looked at the owners with guilty eyes and did not know how to behave. However, the McKinnon couple immediately realized that Asha had saved the life of the koala, which had most likely fallen out of her mother’s bag during the night and got lost. If the rescuer hadn’t brought and kept the cub warm, it might not have survived the night.

For half a day the koala didn’t want to let Asha go, but later she trusted Kerry and let him wrap her up in a blanket. And then the MacKinnons called animal advocates and handed the little koala over to professionals.
