While on a family trip in Washington, a 10-year-old girl noticed a stray cat by the road. Her parents, being animal lovers, immediately stopped and went out to get her, but the kitty ran away.

“We jumped out of the RV and ran back on the road that we came in on, to search for this mysterious kitty that was very out of place,” Jamie told Love Meow. “Several hundred yards back, we found a drain pipe underneath the road and what did we see in that drain pipe but two little eyes peering back at us.”

They walked further across the grass and saw a large pipe that lay nearby. From it, two frightened eyes looked at them… As soon as the family left a small bowl of food near the pipe, the frightened cat immediately came out – the feeling of hunger was stronger.
After the meal, the kitty became plump and softened up, even allowing herself to be taken in her arms. She was very thin, but looking at her closer, the family noticed that she had an unusually rounded belly. Kitty was pregnant.

“It might very well be the easiest rescue we have ever done. We set the little can of food out and she didn’t hesitate for a minute,” Jamie shared with Love Meow. “She came right out and showed us how hungry and beautiful and deathly skinny she was.”

“It didn’t take long to notice through the bones and saggy skin that she was harboring a miracle.”

The family decided to take the expectant mother to their house and help her with the babies. The kitty, who was named Caki, was very grateful for the rescue – she was very affectionate, purring a lot, and wouldn’t leave her household.
A few days later Caki gave birth to six adorable kittens. Everything went great – the mother and kittens felt great. True, mommy didn’t have much milk, but family members took turns feeding the babies from a dropper.

“She let us pick her up and carry her to our RV where she stayed for the weekend. She didn’t hesitate to sleep in the bed with us, snuggle on the couch with us, and seemed to be so very grateful that she was saved,” Jamie told Love Meow.

“Just a few days after we got her home, she shared her secret with us and blessed us with six new little ones,” Jamie said. “We have experienced such joy in helping her raise her babies in a safe, loving, happy home.”

Caki proved to be an attentive and sensitive mother. She kept her eyes on her babies, nursed them constantly, and washed them often. The kittens, meanwhile, were growing up healthy.
Mommy taught the babies all the important cat stuff, and when they were old enough, they started looking for owners for them. The family quickly gave the adorable babies away – they all found better homes.

Now it was time to find permanent owners for the adorable Mama Caki as well. The family can’t keep her, but are happy to help her find the most loving home. Let’s wish Caki finds her owners soon!

“Today she is a healthy, happy, playful, thriving and extremely loving kitty,” Jamie said. “She has really blossomed and come out of her shell. She is the most loving cat I think we have ever fostered.”

“We thought we might be saving one life that day but we had no idea it would actually be seven.”
