South Korea’s first honorary rescue dog was named after a dog saved its owner’s life.
A dog named Baekgu got a lifeguard award in South Korea for the first time in the country’s history.
He saved his 90-year-old owner from hypothermia.
On August 25, the woman and her dog vanished. Surveillance cameras around her home captured this. The 90-year-old owner of Baekgu suffers from dementia, thus her absence has terrified her family.
The police started looking for the woman right away, and it took them almost 40 hours to find her. She was discovered 2 kilometers from the house in the midst of a rice field.
The woman was wet in the rain, causing her garments to become heavy, and she was unable to get up. It was terribly cold outside, therefore Baekgu, who refused to abandon his mistress, prevented her from becoming frostbitten. The woman was taken to the hospital, and the dog was given a reward for his bravery and loyalty. Baekgu first came in their home three years ago, when they acquired him as a puppy after being assaulted by a larger dog, according to the owner’s daughter.
“Baekgu was particularly fond to my mother, and it seemed as if he was thanking us.” I was really concerned that my mum had gone missing for so long in the rain. “He is a member of our family,” she explained.
