Rescuers Found “Crazy Eyes Olive” Malnourished And Covered In Tree Sap But Now She Has A Loving Home And Enjoys Life
This special kitty was picked up on Long Island in the United States in a sad condition. The little girl, with slanted eyes, and a deformed jaw, skinny and tarred, needed love and care. People couldn’t get past her and took her to the local Almost Home shelter, where she was happily welcomed.
She was given the name Olive and a volunteer took her into a holding facility. The foster carer was able to quickly restore the cat’s health and weight, and she was very much transformed. Soon it was time to look for owners for Olive.
A girl named Michelle was just looking for a cat and when she saw Olive’s photo, she fell in love at first sight. When she came to get to know her, she understood – it was destiny! She took Olive with her that day and they haven’t parted since.
“They had been out in the community performing some of their services when they spotted Olive in the street, malnourished and covered in tree sap,” Michelle told Bored Panda. “Once they were able to catch her, one of their volunteers, Barbara, took Olive to her home to foster her and nurse her back to health. I went to visit her and immediately knew I wanted her. I visited her multiple times a week until she was healthy enough to come home with me. I am so grateful for Barbara and Almost Home, they saved her life!”
“Olive does have some neurological problems, unfortunately. She sometimes has seizure-like episodes, but thanks to CBD and some other medications, we have been able to manage it over the course of her life. It isn’t always easy, but she is a very tough girl,” Michelle said.
Olive is now living with a loving owner and is enjoying her new life to the fullest. She has some neurological problems, but in spite of the challenges, Olive lives like a normal kitty. She has excellent eyesight, and most of all she loves to play and cuddle with her owner.
Olive has an Instagram page with 160,000 followers. Users adore the charming and unique Olive, who once again shows many that real beauty is inside.
“Adoption is a wonderful thing as well as supporting shelters like Almost Home that dedicate their lives to supporting animals in need. Also, just because Olive and other animals are ‘disabled’ doesn’t mean they deserve any less love,” she said.
