Not long ago, an injured baby raccoon was found on the streets of Texas, USA. Passersby did not leave the animal in distress, and reported it to the local rescue center Texas Fawn and Friends. Although the center is primarily dedicated to rescuing deer, an owner named Carrie Long decided to take the poor raccoon and help him. She determined that the raccoon was about 2-3 weeks old and had been abandoned by his mother.
The baby raccoon was named Jasper, and the shelter owner began to take care of him. The baby grew up healthy and active – he was fed on a schedule with milk from a bottle and surrounded with love. When Jasper recovered, the caregiver introduced him to the center’s main residents, the reindeer. He immediately made friends with all of them, and became the only raccoon among the reindeer wards.
But Jasper soon had a friend – a little reindeer to whom he paid much more attention. Hope had lost her mother, and the owner of the rescue center took care of her as well as Jasper. The two miraculously found common ground and became best friends!
“Jasper just loves her,” Carrie said. “When he sees her, he runs to lick and love on her. In the evening, she comes and lays next to him. It’s just the cutest thing”
According to her caretaker, the raccoon sometimes behaves too intrusive toward the fawn but Hope, like a big sister, tolerates everything and accepts “brother” just the way he is. Carrie often posts photos and videos of the couple on social media and they have already charmed tens of thousands of users. A recent video of them cuddling gathered a record 450 thousand views.
