People Try To Rescue Blind Cat But He Has Other Plans
Jada Hamby is the owner of a small store. One day a kitten appeared on the lot behind the store. The owner got worried and called the rescuers to take the baby away and find him a loving family.
Volunteers and rescuers came to the place several times. However, they never managed to catch the kitty. He was so nimble that he came up with different escape routes and tricks each time.
“Rescues came on several occasions and tried different methods of trapping him,” Hamby told The Dodo. “He was too smart for all of their tricks! He’s familiar with the area, and as you can imagine, that’s very important to a blind cat,”
The kitty was given the nickname Dumpster, translated from English as “trash can”. That’s where he was found by the owner of the store. But he wasn’t about to leave his place.
He liked living behind the store so much that he wasn’t going to change anything. Clearly happy with his habitat and with his existence in general!
“He loves lounging in the sun on top of our boxes and has shelter from the rain,” Hamby said. “He greets us every morning meowing and demanding his breakfast! He’s a very vocal cat and loves to have conversations with us.”
In the end, rescuers and volunteers decided that the best thing to do was to take the cat to be neutered and then return him to his favorite place. The cat, by the way, turned out to be blind as well. So he knows the area behind the store very well, and it apparently suits him perfectly.Jada and the store employees have taken it upon themselves to take care of the cat. They take him to the vet, feed him, and pet him.
“We aren’t sure whether it was a consensual petting or if our warehouse guy was just able to be extra sneaky, but we’re counting it as a win either way,” Hamby said.
