Nicole Kidman Buys Hugh Jackman’s Hat From The Music Man for $100,000
Australian actress Nicole Kidman bought a hat at a charity auction for $100,000. It previously belonged to her partner in the movie “Australia” Hugh Jackman, reported Deadline.
The hat, which Jackman wore in the musical “The Music Man,” was the lot at an auction organized by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS at the Winter Garden Theater in New York. The money from its sale will go to the fight against AIDS.
Other bidders for the lot were offering only 19 thousand dollars. Kidman also immediately offered 100.000 dollars. After that, Jackman joked on stage: “I just want to be clear, this is not Australian dollars.”
Kidman easily won the auction and received the coveted hat, noting that she loves Jackman, Broadway, and what Broadway Cares’ benefactors do. The actress also praised the show that accompanied the bidding.
BC/EFA welcomed the generous donation, noting, “That’s 20,000 meals and 2,000 doctor visits this holiday season for those living with HIV/AIDS, struggling with COVID-19 or facing other life-threatening challenges.”
