A courageous Labrador Retriever defended his owner against a rattlesnake assault. At the same moment, the dog was bitten by the snake. The Labrador’s 18-year-old owner was terrified he would lose his closest companion. Alex Loredo recounts how his dog Marley saved his life.

The young man stepped out onto his San Diego home’s patio. The man left the house to go to the washing room, which is separate from the house. He immediately heard a rumbling under the table outside. A rattlesnake was lurking nearby, ready to strike. “It was incredibly loud,” Alex says. The student, on the other hand, had little time to focus when the Labrador Retriever sprang from the home and positioned himself between his owner and the snake.

“All of a sudden, my heart fell. “Oh my, I’m going to lose my closest friend,” the guy expresses his concern. Marley was bitten twice by the rattlesnake, once on the mouth and once on the neck. Alex and his mother rushed the dog to the vet right away. The pet’s owners were not optimistic that it would live. In the end, Marley survived and came back home. However, he needs therapies.
