An elderly man from Colorado, USA, noticed something unusual on a rock in the distance. He immediately looked through his binoculars and saw that there was an animal lying there. On closer inspection, he realized it was a dog. It was dangerous to be there, and the dog obviously needed help.
The man contacted the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Rescue Center, and its staff promptly went to pick up the animal. The dog was on a ledge at a height of about 45 meters – so it had to be rescued very carefully. It took them about 2.5 hours to find and rescue it.
Using climbing equipment, the team used a rope to get down to the dog. The dog was frightened but clearly happy that they had finally come to her rescue. As one of the volunteers approached him, the dog began licking his hands and wagging his tail quickly, even though he was still afraid.

The staff immediately saw that there was a collar around the dog’s neck. It had her name, Jessie Lee, and the owners’ contact information. She wasn’t a stray, and when the rescuers called her owners they couldn’t believe what they heard. It turned out Jessie had been lost for over two weeks.

Jessie’s family had been looking for her for a long time, and they were happy that their beautiful girl had been found. The dog was not injured in any way, and was in perfect condition. After an examination, she was taken to her owners, and now she is home again. Thank you to the good people for saving her!
