This gray kitten was spotted on the streets of North Carolina, USA. The little boy, with peculiar crooked paws, was hungry and emaciated and looked hopefully at passersby. One woman couldn’t get past him and decided to help.

“It is a congenital condition that causes the (kitten’s) legs to splay laterally,” Sarah Kelly, the founder of Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue, shared.

She took the kitten to Murphy’s Law Rescue Center, where he was taken care of. The doctors determined that the kitten had a congenital paw deformity, which could be helped with massages and physiotherapy. It turned out to be a girl, named Cecelia.

“She is a heart of gold, a spirited little soul, and an absolutely adorable face,” Sarah said.”The goal is to strengthen and fuse the bones in the correct position with physiotherapy and splinting exercises.”

Since that day the kitten was given to a re-home, where they began to actively recover her paws. Cecelia received daily massages, special exercises, and physiotherapy. Over time, her paws began to strengthen.
Cecilia was very grateful to be cared for in this way. She soon gained weight and became much more cheerful and active. She proved to be a real fighter, and bravely endured all treatments to get better faster.

After a couple of weeks, the baby was already able to step on her hind legs normally which was gigantic progress. Her balance also improved, she no longer limped as much when walking.

Now Cecilia continues to receive massages and gymnastics, and she will need these throughout her life, but the caregiver is confident that this baby has a wonderful future! After all, in spite of all the difficulties, she is a very sweet, gentle, kind creature.
