This little cat was found on the street in Baltimore, USA. She was not even two days old when she was brought to the local Baltimore Humane Society shelter. The staff quickly started taking care of the little one and feeding her from a tube, because she was tiny and very weak.
The baby was given the name Cricket. She was very slow to develop and her guardians were worried about her health. When Cricket was 3,5 weeks old, she was still weak and the size of a two-day-old kitten.
But despite all the challenges, the kitty was strong and brave. Cricket had a great appetite and gained weight quickly. After another 10 days, she reached the size of a week-old kitten and became much more active.
Cricket grew up to be a very gentle and affectionate girl. She constantly asked for attention and purred loudly in her caretaker’s arms. A little later she learned to use the litter box properly and eat solid food – these were already significant achievements!
After reaching one milestone after another, Cricket was finally big enough for adoption. She was well on her way to her forever home where she would be the center of attention, and spoiled and loved.
“I’m so proud of how hard she worked, all she has overcome, and what an awesome cat she has turned into. We spent eleven weeks with this feisty little bug who loves nothing more than to be scooped up and snuggled close,” Melissa, the caretaker, wrote. “I miss her purrs and antics, but I am so excited for her next chapter!”
