Kitten Waits With Cat Mom in Outdoor Shelter Till Someone Finds Them and Turns Their Lives Around
This feline family was found on the cold streets of the Bronx, USA. The skinny mother cat, who had very little milk, was sheltering her kittens and trying to feed them. Nothing was more important to her than her kittens surviving.
The cat herself was very thin and could barely eat normally on her own and here she had four little ones to feed. When the kind residents saw the family, they contacted the Little Wanderers NYC shelter and their staff immediately came to pick up the kittens.
Unfortunately, a tragic loss occurred within days – the lives of three kittens could not be saved. The only kitten left was given the nickname Kenzo. The little guy turned out to be a fighter – he really wanted to live.
“We are supplementing Kenzo with round the clock feedings and trying to encourage Lexi to eat good nutritious food,” Little Wanderers NYC shared with Love Meow.
The mother cat, named Lexi, spent all her time with the baby. She constantly took care of him, fed him milk, and licked him. Mommy and the kitten were emaciated when they were taken into care – the kitten weighed only 189 grams.
The foster began actively feeding the mother cat and the kitten from a syringe at certain hours. Within a few days, Kenzo had gained some weight and was cheerful, crawling and exploring all around. Mom watched his every move.
Most of all, Mama-Lexie was happy that her baby boy was growing up safe and warm and not out in the cold streets. When Kenzo is old enough, loving owners will be found for him and his mommy. Thank you to the kind people who rescued these fluffies!
