Kitten So Happy to Have Warm Lap to Sit on After Being Found in Recycling Bin Looking for Food
Residents of the Bronx, USA, heard a cat squeak from a garbage can near their home. They looked inside and saw a tiny kitten desperately crying out for help. The hungry baby was hungry and had apparently climbed into the bin looking for food.
People immediately pulled the kitten out and reported him to Little Wanderers NYC Rescue. Rescuers immediately took the baby. They took care of her and fed, bathed, and put her to bed.
“(The family’s) 9-year-old daughter named the kitten Angelica – hence, her name Angelica Rose,” Suzy, an emergency fosterer of the rescue, shared with Love Meow.
“She was absolutely ravenous when she came to me, and I could feel her tiny vertebrae — she was starving and dehydrated,” Suzy told Love Meow.
The frightened cub was given the name Angelica, and the next day she went to a group of volunteers to live with them. At 5-6 weeks of age, the kitty was quite thin, and the volunteers did everything they could to make sure she recovered as quickly as possible. Within a couple of days, Angelica realized that she was safe there. She became less fearful and started asking her caretakers for affection. Tiny was so grateful to people for saving her that she immediately began to blossom.
“It’s been sunshine and rainbows since then. She is very playful, a great eater, and still learning the litter box,” Suzy added.
“She walked onto my lap yesterday for a nap! And I have gotten some low level purrs,” Suzy shared with Love Meow.
Since then, the kitty became stronger, more active, and more affectionate every day. She was gaining weight and eating with a great appetite, and her caretakers were pleased with her progress.
In a little while, when Angelica grows up a little more, they will find permanent owners for her. Be happy, little one!
