This baby was picked up on the street in the United States. His hind legs were paralyzed and he was dragging them behind him, picking up scraps. People picked him up and took him to Kitten Carer Rescue, where he was happily taken into their care.
The staff determined that the baby had no function in his entire lower body due to spinal compression, and he was only moving around using his front paws. In addition, he was skinny, shabby, and covered with fleas. Volunteers immediately took up the task of recovering him.

“It was evident he had no movement in the lower half of his body, as he would drag his torso and legs across the ground to move only using his front paws,” Jessica shared with Love Meow.

“He snuggled in close to me all night and just stared at me with those big beautiful eyes—I knew he was happy to be safe,” Courtney shared with Love Meow. “He was hugging my fingers and a teddy all night, purring.”

“Mohan has some compression between L1 and L2 in his spinal cord. This is likely from a serious fall,” Courtney added. “We hope that acupuncture will help with Mohan’s recovery, as it increases the blood circulation and resolves swelling.”

They began to do special exercises, physical therapy, and water therapy with the baby. Mohan happily tolerated all the procedures, as if he fully understood that it would help him. After a while, the mobility of his hind legs began to improve – and that was already a sign of success!
After a couple of weeks, his mobility was much better, he was much more confident in stepping on his feet, exploring more, and playing a lot. When Mohan finally recovers, permanent owners will be found for this wonderful boy.
