This baby, named Buffy, was born on the street in New York City from a stray cat. Buffy was the only survivor of all the kittens, and unfortunately, her mother did not accept her and abandoned her. But the baby got into good hands just in time – she was found and brought to the local shelter.

The staff at the Rescue Right shelter took Buffy in and immediately took care of her health. They did everything they could to keep the frail little girl on her feet. They fed her by the hour and gave her supportive therapy. But at such a tender age, the kitty still needed her mother.
Around the same time, a pregnant cat named Lola ended up at the shelter and soon gave birth. A week after being rescued, she gave birth to eight healthy kittens and began caring for them sensitively. Seeing what an attentive and caring mother she was, the shelter staff decided to try introducing her to Buffy.

The introduction succeeded! Mommy’s instincts immediately kicked in when she saw little Buffy.
Lola’s kittens happily accepted the new family member, even though she was different in color and slightly larger than the others. Growing up, the kittens began to play all together, with their mother constantly looking after them. Now the whole big family lives in a holding center, but soon permanent owners will be found for each of them.
