Several abandoned kittens were found on the streets of Columbus, USA. The unfortunate kittens were squeaking all over the street, and their mother wasn’t around… Kind people took them to a local shelter.

There the kittens were taken care of. One of them, Piper, was several times smaller and much weaker than his congeners. In addition, he was found to have a severe respiratory infection. Volunteers immediately began to restore his health to save the little life.
The kitten was given antibiotics, and IVs every day, and was sensitively cared for. He was also kept in a special incubator to maintain his body temperature. When the other babies recovered and stood on their feet, Piper was still lagging behind.

But in spite of all the difficulties, the little fuzzy wouldn’t give up. He stood firm through all the procedures, and slowly but surely gained weight. Also, Piper turned out to be adorable – he loves to ask his caregiver for affection, and lies upside down on his tummy.
When Piper recovered from his infection, he was noticeably stronger, and lively, and even started to play with his brothers a little bit. He was still developmentally delayed, but he was full of energy to continue to fight.

Every day this boy is getting stronger, more active, and more curious. His caregiver couldn’t be happier with the progress he was making, since her sleepless nights and selfless care were beginning to pay off!
Now, this little guy has grown into a handsome boy who delights his caregiver and everyone around him day in and day out. When Piper is old enough, they will find a permanent family for him. In the meantime, he’s enjoying life with his brothers and growing up to be a wonderful kitty!
