Kitten from the Street Finds Family Cat to Hold onto, and Determined to Win Him Over
This 5-month-old redhead was found on the streets of Los Angeles. Kind people brought him to the Friends for Life shelter. He was terribly frightened but really needed love. They gladly took him in and started looking for a place to keep him.
When the volunteer named Ellie saw the kitten’s photo, she immediately fell in love with him. Even though she had a cat, she still decided to take the baby. She was a little worried about how they would get along, but she hoped for the best.
“When I watched him cuddle with Marley for the first time after only two days of knowing each other, I knew he would stay with us forever,” Allie told Love Meow. “They bonded so quickly it seemed meant to be and I realized I needed to adopt him.”
“Pumpkin is wild, hilarious and cuddly. One second he is running around and playing like crazy, and the next, he is purring and cuddling like a sweetheart,” Allie said.
The cat was given the nickname Lyric, and within a couple of days of meeting him, he started to show his character. This kitty turned out to be just a sweetheart – he was full of love and affection. Soon it was time to introduce him to her house cat, Marley.
When the two saw each other, Lyric was the first to run toward Marley, but the kitty didn’t expect that at all. He immediately pulled away to mark his personal space and was clearly not thrilled that he had to share a home with some unfamiliar ponytail.
“They love play fighting and chasing each other around. They play peek-a-boo around corners and get into trouble together. They love plotting together to get into their treat bags and going through the trash,” Allie shared with Love Meow.
Nothing stopped Lyric, however-he was very persistent. He followed Marley everywhere, constantly inviting him to play, and trying in every way to win the attention of the adult kitty. At first, Marley remained unapproachable.
But that didn’t last long. Soon Marley seemed to realize that it was useless to resist, and his heart seemed to melt. He let Lyric cuddle him and even began to play a lot, though he had not been noticed to be so active before.
Playful and active Lyric as if breathed new life into the adult cat. They were happy to run around the house, although Marley was not as active as his redheaded friend. A strong bond developed between them.
Seeing this, the caretaker couldn’t help herself… When the time came to look for Lyrik’s owners, Ellie decided not to give him away and left him with her family.
Now the furry friends are enjoying their time together even more, and Marley continues to grow younger before her eyes next to his little feline brother. These two never get bored!
