A resident of Arkansas, USA, spotted this little black cat near a busy road. He stopped on the side of the road and approached the little kitty, but it ran under his car.

Eventually, the man managed to pull the kitty out and put it in his car. He couldn’t pick her up, so he contacted a local animal rescuer named Holly Brookholder.
The woman didn’t hesitate to agree to take the kitty with her. She picked her up the same day, checked her health with the vet, and brought her home. The 6-week-old was doing very well, except that she was a little underweight.

Holly’s adopted son, Marcelo, was overjoyed with the new arrival. The boy immediately fell in love with the baby and gave her the cute nickname Appleseed.

“Marcelo was so eager to hold her when we got in the car! I told him he got to name her and to think of a really good name for a girl kitty,” Holly shared with Love Meow. “He thought for a long time. Then he said ‘Appleseed!’ with a big cheesy smile, and that was it!”

“She was a little skittish of sounds and would hide but not for long. Since she’s an only baby, I moved her into an area in our kitchen/dining area where she’s safe behind some clear panels but can see us and not feel so alone,” Holly added.
Appleseed explored every corner of the family home with curiosity from the very first days and also asked for food. Apparently, life on the street was not easy for her, but all was over.

At first, Appleseed was shy and timid, but after three days she began to open up. This little girl has yet to grow up and learn all the important cat stuff. When the time comes, the best possible owners will be found for Appleseed. Be happy, little one!
