Residents of the Australian city of Perth heard the desperate squeak of this toddler in their backyard. His mother wasn’t around and when they realized she wasn’t coming back for him, they immediately contacted rescuers. A volunteer named Tara from The Mad Catters agreed to take the baby in.

The baby was very tiny, weak, and fragile. At four or five days old, he weighed 173 grams. The kitten needed round-the-clock care, which the caring Tara provided.
The caregiver fed the kitten by the hour from a syringe and took care of it. Her love soon paid off – the little guy, nicknamed Cobain, began to heal and revive before her eyes.

This brave boy had a great appetite – he was eating a lot and gaining weight every day. Every two hours, the baby began to squeak loudly, asking his caregiver for food and to hold him in her arms.
That’s when a cat named Cinque came to Tara’s rescue. The pregnant cat was brought to the shelter from the street and soon she gave birth to five kittens. Tara decided that she should introduce her to Cobain.

“As he was not too much older than Cinque’s babies, the hope was that Cinque might accept this lil ginger as an extra mouth to feed,” Impound Feline Rescue shared with Love Meow.

As soon as the foster mother placed the kitten with Cinque, the cat immediately accepted it, began licking it, and feeding it her milk along with the other kittens. There was a lot of love in her big motherly heart!
Cinque gave the baby the love he lacked from his mother, and Cobain blossomed even more. Although he’s a little older than Cinque’s babies, he’s gotten along great with them. The feline family continues to spend every minute together.
When Cobain and the other kittens are old enough permanent owners will be found. In the meantime, this large family is very grateful to the foster mom for the love and care she gave them! Let’s wish these fluffy cats find the best owners!
