Kitten Found as a Feral Climbs on Woman’s Shoulder and Decides She is Family
Volunteers from Douglas Township in the United States found this furry little thing by accident in a muddy ditch. She was without her mother or other kittens nearby, afraid of everything around her and hissing at people. But luckily, kind people managed to catch the frightened little girl and take her to safety.
The kitty ended up at the Odd Cat Sanctuary, where she was happily taken care of. As soon as they brought her in, she stopped hissing – it was as if the little one realized she was being rescued. It turned out she was only seven weeks old. She was very hungry, so she got her long-awaited meal right away.
“The kitten was very spicy and sassy. She would throw down her double paws like she was a fierce lion,” Tara Kay, founder of the Odd Cat Sanctuary, shared with Love Meow.
It was obvious that the little one had been living on the street for the entire seven weeks of her life. Her “wild” habits only began to subside after a few days. She discovered what human affection was and from then on she always asked to be petted.
She was given the nickname Cookie, and in the hands of caring volunteers, she became an affectionate sweetheart. She was playing and exploring the house a lot when she was sent to the shelter. After a while, they started looking for good owners for Cookie.
A young lady, a veterinary student named Sam, immediately fell in love with this beauty. She applied, and the shelter approved it. When the girl first met Cookie, the kitty jumped onto her shoulder and started begging for affection and didn’t seem to be about to jump back down!
“She was instantly so sweet with Sam,” Tara told Love Meow. “We agreed she was not meant for life on the streets, and Sam said, ‘She’s a lover, not a fighter,'” Tara told Love Meow.
So Cookie got a loving owner. Now the kitty is growing up to be an active, playful, and very affectionate girl. She loves to spend time with her owner, running around the house, playing, and exploring new places.
“I absolutely love her. You wouldn’t believe that she was a feral kitten,” Sam shared.
