Kitten Bounced Back, Finds Sweetest Friend to Guard Her Everywhere She Goes
This defenseless baby was found on the streets in Warwick, England. The baby had a wounded leg and was very weak. Kind people took her to the local Warwick Veterinary Hospital. Unfortunately, the baby, nicknamed Peggy, lost her leg and weighed only 200 grams. But after surgery, she showed what a fighter she could be. Peggy started to eat a lot and gained weight rapidly.
“She was getting stronger and gaining weight by the day. We are so blown away by her bravery.”
A volunteer named Kate took the kitten to the shelter and immediately decided to introduce her pet dog, Moon. The dog immediately took the baby under her guardianship, protecting her and not moving a step away.
Moon watched her cat’s every move, licking her and comforting her when she squeaked. The dog showed true maternal instincts next to the baby.
“He is the most kind-hearted dog I have ever known. He has helped over 200 animals that have come through our house. He gave them love, comfort and cuddles while I made them strong and got them ready to go onto their new homes.”
“One of them is always with her. I think Peggy thinks she’s part human, part canine and part feline. One thing I know for sure is she doesn’t think she is any different,” Kate told Love Meow.
Moon was kept company by Kate’s dog, a one-eyed pug named Cheech. From being around dogs all the time, the kitty herself seems to have begun to think she’s a puppy.
“Four weeks ago Peggy’s life was uncertain. She was facing undergoing a massive surgery at just 10 days old that we didn’t know if she’d survive. Fast forward to today, she is learning to walk on three legs surrounded by friends, cheering on every step she takes.”
Despite missing one leg, Peggy is growing up to be an active, playful, and affectionate girl. She is very grateful to her furry nannies and loves to spend time and play with them.
In a few weeks, when Peggy is old enough to take care of her, they will start to look for permanent owners. In the meantime, she is surrounded by caring nannies and is growing up to be the happiest kitty ever!
