Huge Pittie Raised By Cats Thinks She’s A Cat, Too
A pit bull named Willow lives happily with her owners in the United States. She has a best friend, a cat. Although this friendship is atypical between cats and dogs, these guys grew up together, and overturn all stereotypes. In Willow’s opinion, she and a cat named Percy are exactly the same.
“They would run around the house together and [Percy] would sit on the small cat tree to be her height,” Willow and Percy’s mom, Socorro Jaramillo, told The Dodo. “Eventually, [Willow] started trying to get up with him.”
This couple does everything together, from eating meals together to running around the house. During her time with the cat, Willow has come to think of herself as a cat. She even periodically climbs her friend’s cat tree to be close to him. The owners adore their furry friends and are only happy to have such a strong friendship between them.
“After about a week of living together full-time, we started noticing Willow copying Klaus and Spike’s habits,” Jaramillo said. “Since they’re both small, they could climb up on the couch and were able to jump up to the window nook from there. The first few times [Willow] jumped up to be with her brothers were a struggle, and we’d have to help her down, but after some practice, she was up and down by herself with no problem.”
The family rescued Willow from the shelter in 2020 when she was only 9 weeks old. A little later, they welcomed Percy the cat into the family as well. In addition, they have two other cats and a Chihuahua, but only Willow and Percy share a strong friendship. They get along well with other animals, but they spend more time in each other’s company. That’s how the pit bull, who grew up among cats, also became a bit of a “cat”.
“I consider her to be a giant baby,” Jaramillo said. “She follows us everywhere we go in the house and almost always has to be laying on us. She loves humans with her entire being and has a constant wiggle butt whenever she meets a new person.”
