A passerby in a park in Bucaramanga, Colombia, noticed a homeless man sitting on the stairs with two dogs wearing birthday caps. He was feeding them a small cake, and before he did so, he lit a candle and sang “Happy Birthday.” It looked very touching, and a passerby took a little video. During the song, the two candles were lit up, and Choco affectionately petted and clapping to the pups in celebration. Soon the candles were blown out and each dog received a kiss on its tiny puppy cheeks. The man then grabbed a small plastic knife, looking to cut the cake and the pups finally started gaining more interest.

After ending the video, the person filming approached Choco to ask about their lives and to offer help. It was revealed that Choco had spent the last several years living on the streets after escaping an abusive home. Choco has been living on the streets for 7 years, and not long ago he picked up two street dogs who have become his faithful companions. It was one of the dogs’ birthday that day, and Choco decided to organize a little party.

A passerby posted the video online with the man’s permission, and it quickly spread online, gaining thousands of views. The man and his dogs then began to grow in popularity as people from all over Colombia came to the park to meet Choco and give him gifts, money, or dog food.

That was just the beginning! Later, Choco began to keep accounts on social media, where he currently has more than 180,000 followers. In his blogs, Choco promotes his love for animals and his concern for the little ones. He dreams of opening an animal shelter. Now Choco continues to blog, taking care of his dogs, with whom they live in more comfortable conditions. He even sells T-shirts with his logo on them, and the proceeds go to help his four-legged friends.
