Family Photos Show Great Dane Puppy Hilariously Outgrow All His Siblings In A Year
German Dogs are not small! Sometimes they grow bigger than a human.
A family in the U.S. got a German Dane puppy named Maximus three years ago. The family has three other dogs who had no trouble accepting the new dog. Although it took a long time for some of them to get used to him, eventually all the dogs became friends.
“When I got Maximus, I knew immediately that I had to take growth photos or I wouldn’t believe that he used to be small,” Mellstrom said. “I was kind of obsessed with seeing the change every week. Everybody has to sit, which some days can be a struggle depending on who wants to cooperate,” she added. “Once they’re lined up, I’d yell silly words that they like just to get them to look, and snap tons of photos.”
“He has no idea how big he is, and he’s Dahlia’s right-paw dog,” Ashlyn Mellstrom told The Dodo. “Those two are constantly causing trouble together.”
The owner, named Ashley, took a general photo of the pets when Maximus first came to them. He was just a puppy then, the size of a fellow Pomeranian Spitz. The owners then decided to take a similar photo every week to capture how Maximus was growing.
Maximus grew with great speed, and before anyone knew it, he had gone from a baby to a big dog and then to a giant!
Less than a year has passed, and Maximus has outgrown all of his canine relatives and even his owners and the photos perfectly demonstrate this difference. Now, this handsome boy is 3 years old and weighs 90 kilos.
All the dogs in the family still remain a friendly pack. According to the owner, despite the fact that Maximus has become a giant, at heart he remains a small, happy, and kind puppy.
“They all fit very nicely as a pack now,” Mellstrom said. “They have their routine and a pretty good understanding of each other.”
