This tiny kitty was only three weeks old when a family found her near a field in the United States. It was cold and raining – the little girl shivering from the cold and was extremely desperate for help. After hearing her squeak, the family found her in the dark with a flashlight.
When they wrapped her in a blanket and fed her, she couldn’t contain her gratitude – and she purred loudly. The family decided to nurse her back to health after she was stressed.
“I had come home early from a football game at my friend’s high school and was talking to my mom when we heard meowing,” Mia Ibanez, Jinx’s family member, told The Dodo. “We had a giant field behind our house, so my mom and I went out into the backyard and shined a flashlight. All we could see was a tiny black thing in the field, so we climbed the fence and found Jinx.”
The kitty was named Jinx. After a few days, her caretakers noticed that she had unusually large eyes. For this reason, they even showed the cat to the vet but the vet determined that there was nothing wrong with the cat at all. And her big eyes are a unique congenital feature of hers.
Then the family got so used to Jinx that they decided to keep her with them forever. Kitty has grown up and her big eyes haven’t gone anywhere, but that only makes her unique! She seems to be constantly surprised by something. According to her owners, it doesn’t bother her at all and she has great eyesight.
“I wasn’t sure if it was just because she was a kitten (I hadn’t had a kitten in years), but I originally just thought her eyes were really big, but over time realized her feet were also really wonky and same with her nose and mouth,” Ibanez said. “I was expecting her to grow into them and it just never happened!”
According to the owners, when they saw Jinx for the first time, many people compared her to an alien because of her unusually large eyes. And when her owner started posting photos of the kitty on social media, she quickly gained thousands of fans – everyone admires this beauty!
“I honestly was happy when she never [grew into them] because I love animals with quirks. I think they make her all the more adorable,” Ibanez said. “People are usually shocked when I show her to them. Usually people laugh a lot.”
