Staff at a veterinary clinic in Brazil noticed an unusual guest on their doorstep. It was a stray dog who had come for help.

“He walked in very calmly and stopped,” Holanda told The Dodo. “At first we didn’t understand. We looked around to see if he had someone with him, but there was no one.When we approached the animal, we realized that it was a request for help,” Holanda said.

The team accepted the unusual patient out of turn. The doctor examined the dog and saw that he needed urgent medical attention. He had an injury on his neck that was treated urgently. The dog patiently and calmly survived all the procedures and was very grateful for the help.

“We brought him into the office, did a general clinical evaluation and subsequently the cleaning of the wound,” Holanda said.

Igor left the dog at the clinic to be cared for further. When the dog’s health is restored, permanent owners will be found for him.

“His treatment will take a little longer, but it will work,” Holanda said. “And God willing, he will also find someone to adopt him and give him the love and affection he deserves.”
