Dog Walks 37 Miles Home After Owners Forget It At Service Station

In Hangzhou, China, the owners stopped at a gas station and left their seven-year-old dog, called Dou Dou, in the car. When they got back to the car and continued on their way, they did not notice the dog’s absence at first, as Dou Dou was usually sitting quietly in the back. When they reached their destination, they saw that the dog was gone.
The next day, the family returned to the gas station but the dog was not there either. They lost hope and were upset with grief.
Speaking to Qianjiang Evening News, Mr Qiu said: “[We] hoped it would survive and find a good-hearted person who would adopt it.”
However, when the family had already returned home, a few days later a dirty, panting dog came to their doorstep… Only when they looked closer did they realize it was their beloved Dou Dou!
It had miraculously driven 60 kilometers from the gas station to their home. The dog was gaunt and did not look well, but luckily he did not have any wounds.
Mr Qiu explained: “Apart from being skinnier than before, [Dou Dou] was still the same self. Its eyes are radiating with lights. Luckily it didn’t have any injuries. Even though Dou Dou was tired and walking wobbly on the first day [after returning home], it has become a lot more energetic recently.”
