The English bulldog named Nelson is eight years old and lives happily with his owners in Belgium. The owner of the dog has a small store of women’s clothing and sometimes presents her goods at open fairs and exhibitions. Not so long ago she started taking the dog with her – so she wouldn’t have to leave him home alone while everyone is at work.

According to the owner, Nelson doesn’t like to be alone and loves companionship, so she had an idea. She put Nelson’s blanket next to the store so the dog could breathe the air and watch the world around him. Within hours, Nelson was the focus of everyone’s attention!

Strangers began to approach him, who were admiring the well-mannered dog. At that time Nelson sat quietly on the blanket, and curiously looked at everyone who passed by. He even pawed at some people to greet them. The owner in no way expected Nelson to use this “trick” with passersby.

Since then, Nelson has been charming dozens of passersby every day: “I was surprised by what a good, loving and chill dog Nelson was with people at work,” Steyaert said. “But I was more surprised by the behavior from people. I never thought pedestrians would pet a stranger’s dog so often.”

“So many people would take pictures of him and say what a beautiful and sweet dog he is” Steyaert said. “Some would even bring a treat for him.”
