This little dog was spotted sleeping under a car in California. He was in terrible condition – shabby, dirty, and skinny. The dog looked around fearfully and wouldn’t let anyone near him. People saw him and decided to contact Deity Animal Rescue to have the dog rescued. The center’s staff responded immediately, arrived on the spot, and caught the little guy in a net. He was taken to the shelter for recovery.
The dog, nicknamed Russel, had lived on the streets for a long time. He was not found to have a tracking chip, so it was clear that no one wanted him. The dog was unsociable and was afraid to let anyone near him. He wouldn’t even take food from people’s hands.
The shelter staff did everything to make Russell understand that not all people are cruel. One caregiver was constantly spending time with him, petting him and giving him treats. She tried every way to gain his trust.
It wasn’t until a few days later that Russell wagged his tail for the first time. He began to get used to the woman and was no longer so afraid of everyone around him. Later he even started to ask her to pet him, and he could safely lie on her lap. The staff at the shelter were happy to see this progress.
Time passed, and Russell was recovering. In the meantime, the shelter published his photo and story online, and one day a family was interested in her. They wrote that they wanted to adopt Russell. The staff was happy that this little guy would find a home.
That’s how Russell got a loving family. He has transformed into a very different dog – he has become a cheerful, active, brave boy. He is surrounded by love and care, and every day he is enjoying his new life.
