While walking, a dog named Tang noticed a small kitten wandering alone in the street. Then another dog, walked by its owner, joined it, and both began to cautiously sniff the kitten. Tang immediately took her owner to the baby to show him that he needed help.

The owner, named Zack, immediately noticed the kitten. The poor thing must have lost its mother and was squeaking as hard as he could. The man decided to take the kitten with him, and so they went home with their new guest. He was surprised that all this time his dogs had been surprisingly gentle and sensitive with the kitten.

“Tang and Cream suddenly stopped and looked puzzled,” Zac told The Dodo. “You could hear a meow a bit away, so both went running up to investigate.”

When the owners bathed and fed the baby, the dogs continued to spend time by her side, as if guarding her. Most of all, Tang showed tenderness and care for the baby. She sniffed her in every way, constantly watching and caring for her. After a couple of days the kitty became lively, and every day she became more and more active and stronger. Soon she herself began to actively play with the dogs, and they were still protecting her, taking over her parental duties. As the dogs grew fond of the little one, the owners decided to keep her!

“We decided to name the kitten 头奖 (Tou Jiang), meaning jackpot,” Hearn said. “At first, she didn’t have much energy and she slept a lot. But after she was fed on a regular basis and had a warm place to sleep, she livened up.”
