The dog named Tamale is deaf and blind from birth, but that does not prevent him from living a full life and having faithful friends. He has a best friend, Jimmy, and every time the dogs meet, he greets his friend in a very sweet and touching way. It has become a real ritual before every walk!

Tamale is a very cheerful and active dog. His peculiarities hardly prevent him.

“He will oftentimes run into things, but other than that, I see him as a completely normal dog,” Kayleigh Otstot, Tamale’s mom, told The Dodo. “A lot of times when people meet him, they say they would never know!”

Tamale has a best friend, a dog named Jimmy. They met at the dog park and have been walking together every week for more than a year. There is a special bond between these two. Jimmy feels in an amazing way that Tamale is different and sometimes needs support.

“Jimmy and Tamale met at the dog park over a year ago,” Otstot said. “Originally Jimmy’s mom, Melinda, and I would plan to meet at the dog park. Then we started taking the two out on walks together and it went from there. They see each other at least once a week, if not more.”
That’s why friends have the cutest ritual. Every time before a walk, Tamale waits in the car, and when the owner opens the door, Jimmy runs to his friend and touches his nose with his nose. This is how he shows his friend that he is there for him – and then they run off to play together. What wonderful friends they are!
