Cat Gives Her Only Kitten Unconditional Love After Being Found Outside, They Bring Each Other Joy

A couple of weeks ago, a pregnant cat was brought to the Brisbane Veterinary Clinic in Australia. She was underweight and they started looking for a home for her immediately.
A volunteer from the Best Friends Felines rescue team, Nikki, responded. Nikki took her in to care for her. Nikki was initially fearful of her new surroundings, but then she realized she would be safe here.
The kitty was named Desiree. To the caretaker’s surprise, Mommy went into labor much earlier than expected. She gave birth to only one kitten, which was very similar to her mother and turned out to be completely healthy and even big.
“Luckily, we found a carer who was free to fit her in. We weren’t expecting birth for another couple weeks at least, and we were preparing for what we presumed would be a larger litter,” Nikki of Best Friends Felines shared with Love Meow.
Later, the caretaker took the cat to the vet for an ultrasound to see if she had any more kittens in her belly, but this baby was the only one. And Desiree cared for him as the dearest thing she had.
“Incredibly surprised, she gave birth to only one baby as that is rare,” Nikki told Love Meow. “We were concerned enough to take her to the vets to have an ultrasound to make sure there were no more in there, in case she needed assistance.”
Desiree proved to be a very sensitive, attentive, and caring mother. She never let the baby out of her clutches, fed him as if on a schedule, licked him, and never left him alone for a minute.
When little Tato began to crawl, his mother would not let him out of her sight, and she had already begun to teach him all the important cat things. When the baby grows up, permanent owners will be found for him and his mommy.
“She doesn’t leave her room for long but I think, as Tato becomes more mobile and more independent, we could be in for some good couch cuddle sessions with momma Desi.”
